What if some people were born with a superpower and the world around them either fears them or wants to use them? It makes it nearly impossible for superhumans to lead normal lives without constantly having to look over their shoulder. Especially with a shadowy organisation hunting them. But still, this little found family tries. Though, their interpersonal drama doesn’t help. And all of them are working through their own issues. Eventually.

When two ghost hunters in Rotterdam suddenly can't get any paranormal responses, it causes problems for their careers. One goes to sulk and meets a weird, seemingly depressed guy that she grows a friendship with. The other investigates the problem and finds way more than he bargained for, including another weird guy who knows way too much about the local history.

Deep in the mountains of British Columbia lies Varaine Woods. It's been known as a kind, progressive and protective werewolf pack for decades. It's filled with odd pairs that more traditional packs would scoff at, but the Varaines pride themselves in being welcoming. The upcoming generation is still figuring their stuff out; their bonds, their place in the pack, how they want to express their dynamics. Amongst it all, young Alpha-to-be Grey Varaine is desperately hoping his best friend will be his mate, while said best friend Ralph has always assumed he'd be Grey's Beta one day.

After a little while, he finds something living there that he can barely believe. A small family of merfolk. Drawn into their world, Austin finds there's much to explore, despite the mistrust from some of them. The youngest son, Bo, captivates him most of all.
